Why do terminals show 25% and 30%?

Suggested-tip buttons are a conversion tool. Showing 20 / 25 / 30 instead of 15 / 18 / 20 raises the average tip without a conversation. You can almost always choose custom. A calculator is useful precisely because the pad is trying to choose for you.
